About ColorPairLab

A small set of color tools for turning a design idea into exact values and usable text pairs.

From color idea to working palette

Start with a CSS color, a hex value or one of twelve original palettes. ColorPairLab helps you convert the value, check a text and background pair, and download files for your project.

What the tools check

The contrast tools compare opaque sRGB text with a flat background. You get separate AA and AAA results for normal and large text. Focus indicators, borders, transparent layers and interaction need checks in the finished component.

How it works

Calculations, palette editing, saving and file generation run in your browser. No account or remote conversion service is needed. Saved palettes stay in this browser; export a JSON backup to move or keep them.

What you can explore

The reference includes 48 CSS colors, 24 selected text pairs and 12 original palettes. The guides explain the calculations, the blog works through design decisions, and the docs help with controls and files.
